Which game console was a hit on 2011 holiday’s shopping season? (Among PriceGong users)

All of the three items here are just toys- But they are the hottest toys in the market for the past few years. They upgraded every once in a while, and the technology they offers now is the state of the art. Each one of them has its own distinction, and better and worse sides, and of course a variety of prices.
PriceGong team gathered some sales information from the last shopping season, and the result we found are in the pie chart below.

So the first thing that pops up is that PlayStation 3 console is quite behind the other two. The Wii console takes the biggest part of the cake- 41%, and then the Xbox which take- 35%.
Wii console (Release in 2006 by Nintendo) is much cheaper than the others – which might turn out to be a critical parameter that it’s still relevant since 2006, and it takes the biggest part of the pie- 41%. The Wii console as it name might hint (we) - built for several players. Most of the games for the Wii console are sports games, which operate with a special remote that controlled by movement. The Wii is not for solo players, but for team players. The Wii graphic quality is quite poor comparing to the other consoles.
Another advantage for the Wii Console is that it on that price it arrive with 2 controllers and built in games that are quite good- Wii sports and Wii sports resorts. That’s basically gives you a great start with your console.

Xbox 360 (from Microsoft) is the next generation of the Xbox. This console has a HD graphics, and it has many features such as using demo’s, and playing with other people on the net, see movies and more. The Xbox Kinect uses the player’s body as a controller- the device reads the player’s body- so you actually don’t have to hold anything, just play.
Using this technology the Xbox has a lot of great games to offer, and the “none controller” make them really cool.
One of the negative things in this console is that some of the games, and not using the Kinect properly, and the game don’t work so well. But when you have a good game the experience is awesome.

The PlayStation 3(from Sony) is the next generation of the PlayStation 2 of course, and it also the latest console released out of those three. The PlayStation console is using advanced technology of the Blu Ray, and of course it uses HD graphics. The Blu ray technology gives the players the option to play large games with a lot of graphics and data, but on the other hand those disks are very expensive- so that’s a problem.
The games variety here is great- and everyone will probably find the kind of a game he will like.
In order to start playing with your Sony console, you’ll have several items to run- controllers and motion and navigation controller, and the PlayStation 3 Eye, and only then you are all set. Although their controllers are the best out of the three tested, their design might feel wrong- due to the “ball” that is set at the top of each controller, making it feel a bit odd.
